| GENERAL RULES & INFORMATION |
| Fees & Deadlines |
|
| Please see registration sheet for division fees. All
fees are non-refundable. Entry fees should be received at
least 3 weeks prior to competition date. Entry fees received
after competition deadline will be charged a $100 late fee. If payment has not been received on contest day performers will not be eligible for awards.Substitutions for performers can be made at no additional charge.
Please notify our office if substitutions are necessary. No
changes to printed schedule can be made after Wednesday afternoon
of the competition week. |

| How to Register |
|
| Simply
complete the Downloadable Registration Form,
a team roster sheet with names for all soloists, duets, ensembles,
and officer groups, and mail to Danceline Office along with
entry fees OR Register online and submit enty fees to the Danceline Office. |

|
| Team Roster |
| Please
complete a Team Roster to accompany your registration sheet signifying
team members who are also competing in the Officer, Ensemble,
Duet and/or Solo Divisions. We must have this name sheet to
complete our schedule. Please type or neatly write each performer's
name, grade and age on this sheet. |
| |
|
| Deadlines |
| Please
register and mail entry fees at least 3 weeks prior to competition.
Once you have registered and paid at least 85% of entry fees,
you may add entries after deadline with written notice without
paying a late fee. |
|
| Friday Evening Competitions |
| If
the competition exceeds time allotment for Saturday, we may
begin some solos, ensembles and/or officer competition on the
Friday evening preceding the competition date. Please let us
know if you are unable to compete on Friday evening and we will
accommodate your needs. Should the competition begin on Friday
evening, you will be notified at least ten days prior to the
competition. |

| Contest Welcome Information Packet |
| Upon
receipt of your registration and entry fees, a confirmation
will be e-mailed to you with an invoice, forms and general guidelines. A complete competition package including
floor performance diagrams showing entrance and exit points,
location maps, and other details will be mailed out ten days
prior to the competition. |
| Schedules |
| A
tentative schedule of competition will be posted to our website on
the Tuesday of the competition week. |
| Time Limits |
|
| All
group routines should be at least 1 ½ minutes and no
longer than 3 minutes in length for actual performance time.
(excluding entrance and exit) Production routines must be at
least 3 minutes and no more than 6 minutes performance time.
Solos must be at least 1 ½ and no more than 2 ½
minutes in length. There will be a deduction in points should
routines go over performance time limit. Additionally, please
note in registration if your team will require extra setup/breakdown
time for props etc. so we can plan accordingly in our scheduling.
Groups should plan to enter and exit floor as quickly as possible. |
| Coaching |
| Please
note that this is a professional competition and performers
are expected to be prepared and well rehearsed. There should
not be coaching from the directors, choreographers or audience
members during the performance time. Adjudicators may deduct
points for coaching during a performance. |

| Music |
| All music can be on a high quality CD or mpg3 player. All music should be brought to the sound table upon registration/check-in to contest site. Directors should put all music in large envelope with your name and school/studio name clearly marked on outside. Please label each CD with School/Studio Name, Team/Solo Name & Category. It is not the responsibility of Danceline or our sound tech to edit music on site or during a performance. All music should be edited before the day of the contest. |
| Adjudication |
|
| Professional
judges will evaluate each performance in the areas of technique,
showmanship, choreography, execution, appearance and overall
effect. Points may be deducted in the areas of appearance, choreography
and/or overall impression categories should costuming, movements,
or music be deemed inappropriate for all audience levels. Should
a dancer verbally expel inappropriate language while performing,
a lower rating will automatically be assigned. This will be
determined at the discretion of the judging panel. All judges
decisions are final. |
| Food |
|
| Host schools at each contest will provide various menus to offer the public for all meals of the day. Please note this is a fundraiser for this team and they appreciate your support. No outside food or drinks will be allowed. Please do not bring in ice chests. We appreciate your consideration. |

| Performance Area |
| Performances
will be on a regulation size basketball court (96' x 50'.) Please
note that solos and ensembles may be on a stage at some locations.
Notice of stage performances will be sent out with competition
packets. |
| Prop/Shoe Regulations |
| Fire, swords, knives and other dangerous props are prohibited. Simulted weapons with dull, safe edges are accepted with prior approval. No liquid, gel, glitter or other similar substance that would affect dancing surface is allowed. All
props and shoes must be detailed with rubber or safe material
that will not damage performance area floor. The school, studio,
or performer will be held responsible for any damages that may
occur. Tap shoes are not allowed directly on gym floor. If you
perform a tap routine, please bring appropriate tab boards or
other protective surface. |

| Event Cancellation |
| In the event of a natural disaster, terrorist attack, health epidemic, or involuntary cancellation of contest date or location no refunds will be made. Danceline will make every effort to reschedule or relocate the event. Directors will receive a full cancellation policy in their information packet received after initial deposit is sent. |
|
| Sportsmanlike Behavior |
| Consideration
of all participants is expected at all times. Failure to do
so will result in immediate disqualification-no exceptions.
We expect professionalism from our performers as well as spectators. |
| Danceline Technique Challenge |
| Following
the final performance of the day, we will begin our Technique
Challenge in various technical and skill areas. Any individuals
may enter this competition. Top three winners will be recognized
and first place for each challenge will receive an award. A
more detailed explanation will be sent with competition package.
This is a great opportunity for dancers to display their strengths. |
| |
| Admission |
| Admission is $10 for each contest. Tickets purchased on Friday night of a contest are good through Saturday's conclusion. Children 5 and under, Sr Citizens 65 and over and all Members of the US Armed Forces, Law Enforcement and Firemen are admitted free. Please show proof of identity for these special jobs. Each director will be given 2 VIP passes in contest packet for directors and bus drivers only to be admitted free. |
