COMPETITION REGISTRATION PROCESS

All Virtual Competition Registration is done through a separate site host called Dance Comp Genie.  To create or access your registration portal, please use the button above.

REGISTRATION DEADLINES

All competition registration deadlines are set for 3 weeks prior to the contest date.  Any registration received after that time may be subject to late fees.  

 

Directors are welcome to add or edit registration up until the week prior to the competition.

Duet

Open to all age division categories. Eligible for 1-3rd placement. Receives a Divisional Rating.
Entry meant for a routine performed by two dancers.
Elite
$200
Enter 3 or more different team categories to be eligible for awards like Grand Champion!
This entry is for routines performed by select elite dancers from your team.
Independent Solo
$100
Soloists in this category are competing for 1st-3rd place in each of the age division categories. Receives a Divisional Rating.
Any age soloist that is competing as an independent and not associated with an organization attending our Event.
Large Ensemble
$165
Open to all age division categories. Eligible for 1-3rd placement. Receives a Divisional Rating.
Entry meant for a routine performed by 11-14 dancers.
Medium Ensemble
$150
Open to all age division categories. Eligible for 1-3rd placement. Receives a Divisional Rating.
Entry meant for a routine performed by 7-10 dancers.
Mega Ensemble
$175
Open to all age division categories. Eligible for 1-3rd placement. Receives a Divisional Rating.
Entry meant for a routine performed by 15+ dancers.
Pep Squad
$175
Enter 3 or more different team categories to be eligible for awards like Grand Champion!
For non-drill/dance teams that are deemed pep squads by their campus.
Small Ensemble

Open to all age division categories. Eligible for 1-3rd placement. Receives a Divisional Rating.
Entry meant for a routine performed by 4-6 dancers.
Social Officer

Enter 3 or more different team categories to be eligible for awards like Platinum Sweepstakes!
This entry is for routines performed by social officers.
Solo
$85
Soloists in this category are competing for 1st-3rd place in each of the age division categories. Receives a Divisional Rating.
Soloists in Pre-K to 10th grade
Student Choreographed Ensemble
$165
Open to High School/Varsity age division. Eligible for 1-3rd placement. Receives a Divisional Rating
Entry meant for a routine choreographed by a student that is under 18 years of age.
Team
$200
Enter 3 or more different team categories to be eligible for awards like Grand Champion!
70% of your team must perform in each routine to be eligible for awards.
Team Critique Only
$100
Open to all age division performances
Entry meant for teams that wish to receive a critique from the judges and perform without competing.
Trio
$125
Open to all age division categories. Eligible for 1-3rd placement. Receives a Divisional Rating.
Entry meant for a routine performed by three dancers.
Varsity Solo
$85
Competing for the title of Miss Danceline USA and a college scholarship in addition to top solo awards. Receives a Divisional Rating.
Soloist in 11th-12th grade

COMPETITION PAYMENTS

All contest fees are non-refundable but can be transferred to another Danceline USA event. Entry fees, Registration and Media Submissions should be received no later than 3 weeks prior to competition date. Entry fees received after competition deadline will be charged a $200 late fee. If payment has not been received on contest day performers may not be eligible for awards. Substitutions for performers can be made at no additional charge. Please notify our office if substitutions are necessary.

REQUEST AN INVOICE

All competition invoices can be accessed through the registration portal, however, should you need an edit, change or have a special request concerning your invoice, please contact our Accounts Manager, Rhonda at rwdanceline@gmail.com

MAKING PAYMENTS

All competition balances can be paid online with credit/debit card through the registration portal. Only School Institutions may pay competition fees with a check.  

 

We do not accept Purchase Orders or Personal Checks.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS

  • There are no cancellation refunds once the 10-day countdown before event begins.  A partial credit may be offered on a case by case basis.

  • If Danceline cancels a contest, a full refund will be issued within 30 days or less or a full credit may be given.

  • If the host school cancels, the full amount will be credited to your school account to be used at another Danceline event in the same season.

  • In the event of an unforeseen natural disaster or involuntary cancellation of the contest date or location, a full credit will be issued to use at another Danceline event in the next two years.

VIDEO ADJUDICATION

Judges will score each performance on a digital score sheet.  Once the competition is complete, each director will have access to the scores and video/voice comments through the log in portal.  An email will be sent out when they become available for viewing.

The schedule will be arranged just like an on-site competition and will air on this website throughout the day.  At the end of the contest, all awards will be announced!

All awards will be mailed to the address on file following the competition.

Once you register for a Virtual Competition, you will be able to go to your log in portal and upload your competition videos.  Here are the guidelines for filming your best performances:

  • file must be a high quality video format

  • Video in landscape format and not portrait

  • Entire routine must be seen through the entire video

  • Must be filmed so that all performers can be seen

  • Film close enough for technique and showmanship to be visible for the judges

  • Performance should be filmed in an appropriate dance environment like a studio, gym, stage or football field

POLICY & GUIDELINES

It's extremely important that you take time to download and read our Policy and Guidelines packet.  All information in this packet applies to all competition types and locations.  

Please note that COVID-19 and CDC guidelines could impact our normal procedures so please keep an eye out for updates as they become available.

WELCOME PACKETS

Upon registration, directors will be invited to a private group on this website where updates, information and reminders will be made available.  It is highly recommended that directors download the app in order to get notifications on their smart device.

CLASSIFICATION

Specific awards for various classifications will be based on number of entries per class, institution, age and team size. There must be at least three in various classifications to deem specific class awards. Classifications will be divided or combined according to number of participants in each classification, division and category per contest.

 

Class I: The majority of dancers have 1-2 years of training and perform at a beginner to intermediate skill level.

 

Class II: The majority of dancers have 3-5 years of training and perform at an intermediate to advanced skill level.

TEAM DIVISIONS
Small Team = 2-19 dancers      
Medium Team = 20-34 dancers
Large Team = 35-49 dancers      
Mega Team = 50+ dancers

AGE/GRADE DIVISIONS

Age/Grade division is based on the average grade of team competing.
 

  • Mascots: Pre- K & K  

  • Young Juniors: 1st - 3rd Grade  

  • Juniors: 4th - 6th Grade  

  • Junior High: 7th - 9th Grade

  • *NEW*  Pep Squad:  9th-12th Grade 

  • Junior Varsity: 9th - 10th Grade  

  • Varsity/High School: 10th - 12th Grade

  • Collegiate: Ages 18-24 associated with a college
